They overcame every obstacle imaginable to do it, from starting the season 19-31 to winning the Wild Card game in come-from-behind fashion against Reliever of the Year Josh Hader to beating the extremely tough competition in the Dodgers and Astros in seven games, and more. The Fall Classic is finally upon us. The Houston Astros and Washington Nationals will face off in this year’s World Series. This is the second time in three years for the Astros and the first-ever appearance by the Washington Nationals. The Astros finished off the Yankees in six games in the ALCS and the Nationals swept their way past the Cardinals in the NLCS.
It all comes down to this for the four teams in the National League. Two will move on, and two will go home. Two teams will feel the thrill of victory, and two will know the agony of defeat. Okay, screw it. No more cliches. We’re here to make money, so let’s get down to it.
