The Kansas City Chiefs are the Super Bowl champions. They also have the best QB in the world. What else could you want as a franchise?
Ethan Hewett | February 5th, 2020
The Kansas City Chiefs are your Super Bowl LIV champions! It took them 50 years to find their way back to the big game since beating the Minnesota Vikings back in 1970 but they did it spectacularly on their way to a fourth-quarter rally to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 for the win. The suffering of Chiefs fans is over and Andy Reid has officially locked himself into the Hall of Fame after finally grabbing his first Super Bowl victory as head coach.

Two games left with a trip to the Superbowl for the victors. It has been an interesting playoff season so far and today’s games figure to have some excitement for sure. I will take a look at the AFC game in this article and the NFC game in a second article today. Continue reading

It’s incredible to think that both of these teams are at this stage of the NFL playoffs given both were teams that should’ve been eliminated last week but overcame all the odds to get to this position. The Tennessee Titans have ridden Derrick Henry and their top-five defense to this point beating Tom Brady and Bill Belichick in New England then turning around and beating the number one team in all of football in the Baltimore Ravens to keep themselves alive. The Chiefs haven’t lost since Week 10, but they were close last week trailing by 24 before rallying in six minutes of game time and blitzing the Texans for 51 at home to advance and host this AFC Championship Game. This game will kick off championship weekend and will be played at 12:05 PT on CBS. Continue reading

Wild card weekend definitely lived up to its name. Now we are on to the Divisional Round. This week I will take a look at the injury status of the four teams who were on a bye last week. If you still want to read about the injuries status of the teams who thrilled us you can check it out – NFC AFC
The new additions to the playoff madness this week include The Baltimore Ravens, the Kansas City Chiefs, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Green Bay Packers. So without further adieu, let’s take a look at the injury status of these four teams. Continue reading

The NFL is striving to extend its reach beyond the United States. The Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs battle in Mexico City to round off the last of five international games for the 2019 season. Monday Night Football has two teams competing for the AFC West. Can the Bolts get the better of the 2018 MVP?

It’s almost time for the fantasy playoffs! Hopefully, you are well-positioned for a championship run. If not, let’s help you squeak out a final playoff berth or play spoiler against other contenders! This week features a heavyweight title fight between two of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football: Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson. Let’s rank ’em! Continue reading

Week 10 is tough because there are six teams on their bye, so fantasy owners will likely be missing one key piece from their rosters. The most interesting storyline of the week will be the return of Patrick Mahomes. Can he regain his MVP form? Let’s navigate through this challenging week – on to the rankings!

Another divisional matchup is set in store for us on Thursday Night. The reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs head to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have lost two games in a row after starting off 4-0. The Broncos had a rough start going 0-4 but they have now won two in a row. One of these streaks has to give so without further ado, here are my top players and predictions for this divisional matchup.

Last week’s Thursday night game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots was a closer game than many expected, at least till the fourth quarter. Eventually, the Patriots won 35-14 as the defense scored two touchdowns to match Tom Brady‘s two rushing touchdowns. While the game wasn’t full of fantasy points, Golden Tate and Julian Edelman joined Brady and the Patriots D/ST as the only players to score more than 14 fantasy points in the game. Hopefully, tonight’s game offers more big-time fantasy scorers.

Week five was filled with phenomenal performances, with monster games from Deshaun Watson, Christian McCaffrey, Aaron Jones, Amari Cooper, Will Fuller, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles D/ST. Week six has a few projected shootouts, including a heavyweight bout between the two best young quarterbacks in the league. I’m sure that we’ll be in for a few surprises this week!

Week four of the NFL season included a number of disappointing performances from elite players. We saw quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady all fail to throw touchdown passes. We also saw some massive rushing totals, with Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette going off for a combined 390 yards. The fantasy football season is a roller-coaster ride filled with surprises and disappointments. Buckle up and let’s see what week five brings!
Ah yes, it was a duel of top-tier QBs in Detroit this afternoon. Matthew Stafford took on Patrick Mahomes in a battle that Lions fans won’t forget, but may want to. A day that looked promising early, and even late, turned for the worse as Darrel Williams crossed the goal line to seal the deal for the Chiefs. Continue reading
Just two seasons ago, a Detroit Lions victory at Lincoln Financial Field seemed nearly impossible. The Lions had fired Jim Caldwell after what felt like the franchise was at a standstill. The Eagles and Doug Pederson were led by Nick Foles after a Carson Wentz injury forced the team to change quarterback hands. They were led to a Super Bowl, something Lions have hoped just to get to since the Lombardi Trophy Era started. Continue reading
Week 1 is in the books, but the fun is only just beginning. Week 2 looks like another magnificent slate of games to enjoy. Fair warning, there will be quite a few Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders mentioned in this week’s article. Both teams are in a position to post monster numbers from a fantasy outlook. Some, more so due to their price, and others because they’re monsters every week and have great match-ups. The goal of the cash game article is to outline some of the safer plays, while also, providing options that will help you create the most optimal builds. The whole point of it all is to make some money. Sometimes we don’t, but putting ourselves in the best position to is the main thing. That goes without saying, but can sometimes get overshadowed by the results on a week to week basis. All people want to know is how many points a guy scored, and not necessarily the route in which he got there. DFS is not only a science but a math equation. Let’s dive in, put the pieces together, and try to solve it. Here are my favorite Cash Game Plays for Week 2. Continue reading
Well, this is it. This is what we’ve all been waiting for. NFL football is back baby! Of course, we had the Chicago versus Green Bay game on Thursday night to kick off the season, but that was simply a tease. A low scoring defensive battle with one touchdown over the course of the game. Sure, it was a good football game (not the outcome I wanted being a Bears fan), but not at all what fantasy players were hoping for either. There will be a lot more action and points today, guaranteed. Cash games have been an area we can find an edge when it pertains to daily fantasy football. Every year new players jump aboard the always rolling DFS train. Luckily for you, most of the new players will be applying what they know about season-long fantasy into DFS. That’s not a terrible strategy, but it can lead to bad habits or skipping over important details. By putting in the extra effort and taking in as much as you can, you’re already winning. With all of that said, let’s kick off this season the right way. Take a stroll with me and look at some options to target for Week 1 DFS Cash Games. Continue reading

First, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kevin Walsh, and I am from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been playing DFS since DraftStreet still existed. This is my first season writing for The Scorecrow, and this is my first tournament rundown. I have written about DFS before, so hopefully, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I am a huge football and hockey fan, and I am always so engulfed in fantasy sports from September until January. I plan to give you a peek inside what I have going on in my head and hopefully lead you to some DFS success (as well as myself, of course), but enough about me, let’s get to the good stuff.

Welcome to another fantasy battles. I will evaluate two players who have similar ADP in 12-team PPR scoring. The two competitors in question will be Travis Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster. According to Fantasy Football Calculator, both players are being taken in the early second round. With a similar ADP, we will look at the reasons for and against taking both players and whom I value based on the points made. Kelce is currently being taken as the TE1 while Smith-Schuster is being taken as the WR7. In 2018, Kelce finished as the TE1 while Smith-Schuster finished as the WR8. Follow along to see the pros and cons of drafting one over the other.

The 2019 NFL season is almost here! Well, the preseason at least. The Hall of Fame Game between the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos is tomorrow. The regular season is a little more than five weeks away, but football is back baby! Of course, that means redraft fantasy leagues will be drafting left and right over the next month or so. With that in mind, here are my top 12 tight ends for the 2019 season.

Earlier today the NFL announced that the Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Tyreek Hill would not be suspended after being investigated for domestic violence this offseason. Whether you agree or disagree with this decision, whether you are a fan of the NFL’s personal conduct policy or not, the reality is Hill is allowed to take part in training camp next week and play in all 16 games this season. I’m not here to sway your opinion on the NFL’s decision or Hill as a person. I am here to explain how the news impacts the entire Chiefs’ offense from a fantasy perspective.
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Hopefully, you are enjoying the greatest American holiday with friends, family, food, and your choice of beverage. While the 2019 NFL season doesn’t kick off for another nine weeks, it is never too early to prepare to build the ultimate fantasy football team. To help with that, the Scorecrow family has started a mini-series with a handful of writers giving you their opinions on five questions. Be sure to follow all of the writers on Twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

The 2019 NFL season is still several months away but it’s never too early to get ready the fantasy season. With free agency, trades and the NFL draft still to come, many of these players’ fantasy value will change for the upcoming season. In a four-part series, I take a shot in the dark and rank the top quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends for 2019 redraft leagues. Check out the previous parts here, here, and here.

Hello, Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff owners. Welcome to Week 12 edition of streaming options. After Monday’s performance, I’m sure you’re sick to your stomach thinking that you have to start somebody else at quarterback. There is hope for you, I would feel less anxious than a Travis Kelce owner who needs a win this week. If you are that Travis Kelce fan, we’re going to try to get you a touchdown with your TE streamer in Week 12. The tight end wire doesn’t really offer much more than a touchdown prayer at this point.

Week 10 in the NFL is upon us. This weekend the Denver Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans are all idle on the schedule. That means no Phillip Lindsay, Adam Thielen, Alex Collins, or DeAndre Hopkins. So here is this weekend’s list of performers who have the most opportune chances to light up the fantasy scoreboards.

One of the most frustrating positions in fantasy is the Tight End. You’re required to play at least one, and unlike the other offensive positions, a 10 point performance is considered pretty good. When it comes to drafting a TE you either want to be one of the first or one of the last. DON’T get caught in the run on TEs. Start the run or wait, unless there’s value you can’t ignore. After diving into the numbers, I’ve come up with some realizations to improve my rankings and help you maximize your TE value on draft day.
