FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY! Well almost back. In just over seven weeks, the NFL kicks off its 100th season with a matchup between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. These next seven weeks can’t go by fast enough. However, training camp officially kicks off today for the Denver Broncos with all the other teams to start within the next or so. In the meantime, the Scorecrow family has started a mini-series with a handful of writers giving you their opinions on NFL questions; five at a time. Be sure to follow all of the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it.

The New York Jets have become the biggest headline in the National Football League after last Wednesday when, less than a month after the draft, they fired their General Manager Mike Maccagnan. Along with him they also fired Vice President of Player Personnel Brian Heimerdinger, who was Maccagnan’s second in command and potential successor. The Jets then placed new head coach Adam Gase as the interim GM.

The Jets came into this draft looking to improve the trenches especially on the defensive side of the ball after finishing tied for 16th in the league with 39 sacks, and they addressed this issue early on in the draft picking up Quinnen Williams, out of Alabama in the first round, along with Jachai Polite falling right into their laps in the third round. Both picks should fare very well for them. After this, the Jets picked up an offensive tackle, tight end and rounded out their draft with a cornerback. Here’s how the Jets fared in this year’s draft.

Two weeks from today we will have two major events going on, day two of the NFL draft and Marvel Endgame. The importance of those is up for debate. What is not up for debate is that the New York Jets draft will be determined on day two of the draft.
This is the Scorecrow Mock Draft 2.0 and boy is this a doozy. We have trades galore and plenty of hot takes with these picks that they will surely get a rise out of some of you.
Again Mike Fanelli will be picking with me, this time we split teams by conference. Mike has control of the NFC teams and I have control of the AFC teams so it should be easy to decide who you tweet your love or hate it.
Let’s quit stalling though and get into the heart of this, shall we?
