On Saturday night, the Miami Heat announced that they suspended Dion Waiters for conduct detrimental to the team. Heat president Pat Riley was quoted as saying the suspension stemmed from “a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night.”

The Heat prides itself on being the most conditioned team in the entire league. Riley believes that slipped last season and it was the reason the Heat missed the postseason.

With the Grizzlies eyeing Morant, it could mark the end of 12 year veteran guard Mike Conley‘s career in Memphis. To clear up more playing time for the rookie point guard, and possibly tank for next year’s draft class, there’s a great chance the Grizzlies will entertain talks for the veteran guard this summer.

Earlier this month, Los Angeles Lakers legend and President Magic Johnson abruptly stepped down as President of Basketball Operations. Since then, the Lakers have been interviewing coaching candidates to replace the recently fired Luke Walton. Those candidates include former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue, Philadelphia 76ers assistant Monty Williams, and Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard. While the Lakers are currently focusing on hiring a new coach, they still need to hire a new replacement for Magic Johnson.
