Five Bold Predictions for the Cleveland Browns

Frank Ammirante | May 17th, 2020

Entering the 2019 season, the Cleveland Browns were one of the most hyped teams in football. The acquisition of star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and the continued development of promising quarterback Baker Mayfield created high expectations for the team. The Browns finished the season as the biggest disappointment in the league – poor coaching, porous offensive line play, and regression from Mayfield resulted in a 6-10 record. Fresh off a strong offseason, the Browns look poised to deliver on last year’s expectations in 2020. Here are five bold, but attainable predictions for the Cleveland Browns.

With the additions of Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon, and new head coach, Freddie Kitchens, the Browns came into 2019 with high expectations. Well, everything possible went wrong. Alright, it’s time to cook up some winning lineups once again. Hopefully, last week you were able to construct a nice winning lineup based on some of the plays mentioned in last week’s article. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins pulled off their second straight win, defeating the Indianapolis Colts, throwing NFL draft junkies for a spin. Last week’s Thursday night game between the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers was entertaining, close, and offered plenty of fantasy points.

Fantasy Battle: Which Running Back Should go 1.01?

Mike Fanelli | Aug 24th, 2019

Almost every year, fantasy owners picking early in the first round target bell cow running backs as they are worth their weight in gold. This year there are four running backs in that group: Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, and Ezekiel Elliott. A month ago, these four running backs were being drafted all in the top four picks according to Fantasy Football Calculator. However, since Zeke is currently holding out, his ADP has dropped down a little to 1.05 and is the fifth player being taken on average, behind the other three running backs and DeAndre Hopkins.

Daniel Corrigan | August 12th, 2019

The Cleveland Browns finished the 2018 campaign with a 7-8-1 record. For 99 percent of teams, this would be a season to forget. But when you are 1-31 over your previous two seasons, this is an amazing start to an amazing rebuild.

The Browns rookie class was highlighted by Baker Mayfield, who broke the NFL rookie touchdown record with 27. The Browns also got production from rookies Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, and Antonio Callaway.

After a loss to Pittsburgh, Hue Jackson and Todd Haley were fired and replaced by Greg Williams and Freddie Kitchens. Continue reading

Buying, Selling, and Trading on the Fantasy Market – Week 4

Brian DeWester | September 29th, 2018

Ah, yes, trading in fantasy football. One of the things that can give hope to the hopeless or the bored something to do. Although, finding the right deal isn’t always easy. You have to identify players that you can realistically acquire (based on what you’re willing to give up), and then craft an offer that would appeal to your would-be trade partner. While the last step is important, the focus of this article is to help you identify players that are worth trading away and trading for. And as always, it’s important to remember that not every trade can fit into the ideal “buy low/sell high” mold. With that being said, it’s time to look at what I’m buying and what I’m selling after three weeks of football.

Because so many people play fantasy football, you’ll see so many websites with different rankings, projections, and other tools to try to help you conquer your fantasy leagues this year. I believe that the most important (and potentially most misused) tool in your draft prep arsenal is mock drafting.

Holdout Storylines to Keep in Mind While Drafting

Richard Benites | August 1st, 2018

Let me set the scene really quickly: the year is 2017, it’s a warm summer night, and your fantasy league is excited to start drafting their teams for the upcoming football season. You have the coveted No. 1 overall pick, you can’t possibly mess this up, right? You go with Le’Veon Bell, and in all honesty, you can relax because that was a great selection.
