This past week, the NBA had the mid-season trade deadline, and as such, trades happened! Who woulda thunk?
At The Scorecrow, trade deadlines and draft days are our equivalent of a national holiday, so when the NBA’s largest trade in two decades went down to start the madness, we all just got drunk instead of doing our jobs and writing things. Sorry Johnnie.

Happy trade deadline day everyone!! The NBA trade deadline is at 3:00pm. But, have no fear, our regularly scheduled program will go on as usual, and I’ll give you guys the top five plays of the night! With so many moving parts ahead of the trade deadline, the Miami Heat entered Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers shorthanded. Only eight Heat players were dressed. Miami pushed to an early 12-point lead against the Clippers but eventually ran out of steam. The Heat would go on to lose the game 128-111. Miami’s record is now 34-16 for the season.

It’s the time of year! It’s trade season and we’re setting up for a very interesting trade deadline. A ton of teams are still needing pieces and other teams need to blow things up and start over. I’ve gathered a few of our scribes to talk about what they expect to see at the trade deadline this Thursday.

We’ve only a few days away from the NBA trade deadline. Typically, teams will look for deals that can significantly improve their chances in their conference. Last year, the Toronto Raptors acquired Marc Gasol, a move that helped them win last year’s championship. The Miami Heat are reportedly looking to do the same this week.
