DraftKings came through in the clutch and finally added paid iRacing contests. It was a little less than a month ago that we were getting into the swing of things for NASCAR DFS. Then COVID-19 stepped in and forced the season to be put on hold, yet here we are already into the third week of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series.
Last Sunday was meant to be an exciting day of NASCAR at Atlanta, however, due to the Coronavirus scare that was not to be. All of the race events would be suspended at Atlanta Motor Speedway and also the following weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Instead, a replacement race of sorts was assembled by both iRacing and NASCAR to fill the void left by the missed action. Week three of the NASCAR Cup Series is upon us. The drivers stay out west this weekend and head out to Fontana, California. The track is Auto Club Speedway and the race will be 200 laps. The track is wide enough to go five wide, and I expect it to be a hectic race. Below I will be providing my dominator, some contenders, and some underdog drivers.
They would only manage to finish 50 of the 200 laps, last Saturday at the Las Vegas race. Before a heavy rain delay would push the event back to Sunday, and they would resume it an hour after the finish of the Cup race. Stewart Haas driver, Chase Briscoe would put on a great effort at the bull ring. Not only would he beat out Austin Cindric for the victory by three seconds, but Briscoe would also dominate in laps led with 89. Which was 25 more than the next closest driver.
It was a Daytona 500 that offered plenty of memories, including a photo-finish victory by Denny Hamlin, along with a visit by President Trump to kick the new season off. Good news on the Ryan Newman front. Two days after being involved in that scary wreck on Monday, with people waiting for any good news. Newman was walking out of the hospital hand in hand with his two children. It was announced this week, Ross Chastain will fill in for Newman while he completes his recovery.
