Rumor: Lakers Interested in Heat President Pat Riley

Earlier this month, Los Angeles Lakers legend and President Magic Johnson abruptly stepped down as President of Basketball Operations. Since then, the Lakers have been interviewing coaching candidates to replace the recently fired Luke Walton. Those candidates include former Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue, Philadelphia 76ers assistant Monty Williams, and Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard.  While the Lakers are currently focusing on hiring a new coach, they still need to hire a new replacement for Magic Johnson.

Report: Juwan Howard will interview for Cavaliers and Lakers coaching position

After mutually parting ways with interim head coach Larry Drew last week, the Cleveland Cavaliers will begin searching for his replacement. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavaliers will interview Miami Heat assistant Juwan Howard for the position next week.

Hassan Whiteside Says he will Consider Opting Out this Summer

In a couple of months from now, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside could become a free agent if he opts out of the final year of the four-year contract he signed back in 2016. However, he’s unlikely to earn as much as his $27 million option for next season. While he hasn’t guaranteed he will opt out, Whiteside still plans on giving the decision some thought in the coming weeks.

Eddie Jones The Forgotten Man

Eddie Jones played his college basketball career at the University of Temple. Jones played under the tutelage of Head Coach John Chaney. While at Temple, Jones was the 1993-94 Atlantic-10 Player of the year and led the Owls to the Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament.
