Three Years Ago Today: The Cleveland Curse is Broken.

It’s hard to believe that it has already been three years. This day three years ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers finished the 3-1 comeback against the 73-win Golden State Warriors to win not only the first Championship in franchise history but Cleveland’s first championship in 52 years.

ACL Recovery -The Long Road Back

Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in the third quarter of game 6 of the NBA Finals Thursday night. This is just the latest in a long list of injuries suffered by the Golden State Warriors this season. This injury occurred just 3 days after Kevin Durant suffered a ruptured Achilles Tendon in Game 5.  The common issue in both of these injuries is that both players had recently returned from a different injury before suffering their more devastating injuries. Did the prior injury contribute to the new injury? Did the GSW medical staff doom the team because they cleared both Durant and Thompson to play? What Now for the Warriors?

Eleven months ago, in an article detailing why the Boston Celtics were the favorites for the 2019 NBA title, I labeled the Golden State Warriors dynasty as ‘fragile’. While my crowning of the Celtics proved to be premature (I wasn’t the only one fooled), this description of the Warriors proved to be correct, although I did not envisage it having such a literal meaning.

Warrior Injury Woes Continue – Tietze Curse

On Monday night Kevon Looney was ruled out indefinitely by the Golden State Warriors with a right first costal cartilage fracture.  This latest injury just adds to the injury woes of the Warriors, who are still without Kevin Durant who is recovering from a mild calf strain and has not been cleared to play while Klay Thompson who suffered a mild hamstring strain in game 2 of the finals is listed as questionable for game three.
