After a tie in Week 1, a supercharge is what the Lions needed to help them through a long season. They got it in their home opener at Ford Field. Not a ton of points were scored by the Darrell Bevell offense, but a win is a win, and the Lions got just that in a 13-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Here are three takeaways for the Lions from this first victory of the season.
You read that right. The Lions did what the NFL is trying so desperately to make impossible, end a game in a tie. After taking a 24-6 lead into the 4th quarter, the Cardinals rallied back to send the game to Overtime. A pair of field goals evened the score at 27, and the game ended there. Continue reading

First, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kevin Walsh, and I am from Pittsburgh, PA. I have been playing DFS since DraftStreet still existed. This is my first season writing for The Scorecrow, and this is my first tournament rundown. I have written about DFS before, so hopefully, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. I am a huge football and hockey fan, and I am always so engulfed in fantasy sports from September until January. I plan to give you a peek inside what I have going on in my head and hopefully lead you to some DFS success (as well as myself, of course), but enough about me, let’s get to the good stuff.

The Detroit Lions are on the prowl. In Matt Patricia‘s second season as Head Coach, the squad is hoping to improve on their 6-10 record from last season. In their way stands a host of foes. Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, and Aaron Rodgers, just to name a few. To take down these men and take on the challenge of winning the NFC North, you must have a sound 53-man roster. 6-10 tells me there’s a lot of work to do, and I’m sure it says the same to my fellow readers. However, let’s become familiar with the roster that will be with us for this 2019 season.
The 2019 NFL season is right around the corner! The Hall of Fame Game between the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos is tonight, meaning we have just five weeks till opening night. That time will (hopefully) go by quickly. In the meanwhile, it is never too early to get started on building the ultimate fantasy football team. To help with that, the Scorecrow family has put together a mini-series with a handful of writers giving you their opinions on five questions. Be sure to follow all of the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

The Lions 2018 season left much to be desired. After a great first play from scrimmage resulting in an interception returned for a touchdown, the Lions season turned completely upside down. Matthew Stafford had one of his worst seasons as a pro and offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter would be replaced during the offseason by Darrell Bevell. After an up and down start resulting in a 3-3 record midway through October, they would go on to lose seven of the next ten games ending the season with a 6-10 record, their worst since 2012. The Detroit Lions ended the season with a dominating 31-0 win over arch-rival Green Bay to finish 6-10, this was the team’s worst season since 2012. With a second season under head coach Matt Patricia coming up, we should expect multiple changes this offseason as he continues to shape the roster to fit his scheme.
