After losing three consecutive games, the Miami Heat bounced back with a win against the Golden State Warriors. It wasn’t easy either. Leading by 19 at the half, the Heat watched the Warriors pull within four multiple times in the third period. However, the Heat pulled away in the fourth period to come out victorious. Miami is now 35-18 for the season.
Here are my takeaways from Monday’s game against the Warriors.
For a moment in the second half, it appeared the Miami Heat were heading towards an embarrassing loss. After trailing by as many as 21 points in the first half, the Washington Wizards stormed back into the game and took the lead. But then, the Heat recovered and pulled out an overtime win over the Wizards. Miami is now 8-0 in overtime games and their season record improves to 31-13.
Here are my takeaways from Wednesday’s win over the Wizards.
Playing in their 41st game of the season, the Miami Heat finished the night with a victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Miami was in control for most of the game. Home sweet home! After the blowout loss on Saturday, the Miami Heat went back to their winning ways on Monday. Despite a competitive first half, Miami blew out the Charlotte Hornets 117-100. The win improves the Heat’s record to 12-4 for the season.
As Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra stated in pregame, this was a “dress rehearsal” for the team. The Heat starters played more minutes, and the team played with a ten-man rotation for most of the game. And it was largely successful, with the team defeating the Orlando Magic 107-98 on Thursday.
With training camp a month away, Miami Heat forward Kelly Olynyk picked up an injury Wednesday night.
While playing for the Canadian national team in a FIBA exhibition game against Nigeria, the Heat big man slipped on a wet spot on the court and had to be helped off the floor and brought to the locker room area. Continue reading →
