Coming into the season the Pirates were expected to rebuild. In one of the best divisions in baseball, the Pirates were predicted by many to finish fourth. So far, they have battled seemingly never-ending injuries and surpassed expectations. Over the last past two weeks, they faced teams currently in the playoff picture and excelled. The baseball season is a grind. It’s every single day. We will approach DFS the same way and be winners at the end of the season even if we have our hot streaks and slumps. Every day there are safe bets that flop and values that hit big, but we need to stick with our strategy in evaluating and playing. Let’s take a look at what we have today.
Entering 2018 the Pirates had many question marks surrounding the future of this team. Franchise icon Andrew McCutchen and ace Gerrit Cole were traded away for prospects. As a result, the expectations in Pittsburgh were low and another rebuild seemed to be underway. The Pirates failed to make the playoffs, however, many of their young players took steps forward. Led by a talented rotation this group could be a sleeper team in the NL Central.
With Spring Training fastly approaching many questions still remain for the Pittsburgh Pirates. One area that they do not have to worry about is the starting rotation which could rank among baseballs best. Continue reading →
