All summer I have been consuming more football than Joey Chestnut with Hot Dogs on the Fourth of July. My brain has been fried at times but I can honestly say this is going to lead to so much more content for both Coast to Coast Scouting and The Scorecrow and I cannot wait.
However, enough of the sappy stuff from me lets get into the meat and potatoes. Continue reading →
The writers at TheScorecrow.com decided to get together and come up with their version of a Top 100 NFL players from the 2018 season. Each writer was invited to submit a ranked list of their top 25 NFL players. The votes were then counted using a weighted average method. This means that a 1st place vote was worth more than a 25th place vote.
Players ranked 1st on a list received 25 points, 2nd = 24 points and so on down to 1 point for a 25th place vote. Each players points were added up and then listed from least to most to generate our list of top 100 players. The top few players were fairly common on all the lists, but after that it was interesting. We hope you enjoy our rankings and would love to read your comments on our list. Special thanks to Beth Sullivan for tabulating the votes and getting this project together.
The Los Angeles Clippers squared off against the Charlotte Hornets. Los Angeles would come away with the 117-115 victory thanks to a Tobias Harris buzzer beater. Harris would have 34 points while going 13-of-21 from the field as well as making six three-pointers.
A gutsy call by Jeff Monken to go for 2 and the win paid off last year as Army converted on a two-yard run by Kell Walker to get them past San Diego State in the final seconds in a wild game that featured a lot of scoring.
The 2018 NFL regular season is just barely halfway over, yet it is never too early for an NFL mock draft. Plenty will change between now and the draft in April and by no means can Gio or myself see into the future. Both of us made 16 selections each and please remember we hate your team.
