For the first time this season, at home, the Miami Heat had to break a sweat to come out victorious. Despite their record, the Chicago Bulls threw the first punch and lead the Heat by nine after the first period. Even though the Heat won the next two quarters, the game was still in doubt. But in the end, the Heat prevailed. Miami moves to 17-6 for the season.

The list of unbeaten home teams just got shorter. Thanks to the Miami Heat. Despite losing their best bench scorer in Goran Dragic, the team still pulled out a victory against the Toronto Raptors. Here are my takeaways from Sunday’s 109-106 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

The last time the Miami Heat and Golden State Warriors faced off, the Heat beat the Warriors thanks to a Dwyane Wade buzzer-beating three-pointer. This time there were no late-game theatrics. After the Warriors trimmed the Heat’s lead to six in the third period, the Heat regrouped in the final period and ended the game with a 122-105 win. The victory moves the Heat season record to 13-5.
Here are my takeaways from Friday’s win.

The Miami Heat are coming off a disappointing season, as they missed the playoffs for the second time in years. Because of this, there need to be roster adjustments, with grabbing a star player the top priority. This year’s free agency class—headlined by Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Kawhi Leonard—is expected to be the best since 2010. Continue reading
