A full schedule awaits us tonight in the NHL. We have trimmed down the mega slate and we will try to ride the coattails of a few teams that are in really good form of late. The Florida Panthers host the Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa and Detroit tangle in the Motor City and the red-hot Chicago Blackhawks host the Carolina Hurricanes in what should be a game with lots of scoring chances. The Florida Panthers are looking to the future today as the team announced this morning that they have fired head coach Bob Boughner after two seasons. Boughner leaves the Panthers organization with a record of 79-62-22. In the two seasons under Boughner, the Panthers did not reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The other projected high event games are Chicago at San Jose, the Islanders at Winnipeg, and Washington looking for two in a row against the Hurricanes. Continue reading →
