It has been a rough go of things for the Florida Panthers. With only two appearances in the Playoffs (both first-round exits), they cannot seem to build a core. But another season is upon us, and the Panthers look to take the ice on September 16 against the Nashville Predators, and another chance to right the ship behind newly appointed head coach Joel Quenneville. The Florida Panthers are looking to the future today as the team announced this morning that they have fired head coach Bob Boughner after two seasons. Another mega-slate of games after a light two-games last night in the NHL. Tonight we have a huge 14 games on the card. Half the games have a combined implied total of at least six goals with two of them currently pegged at 6.5. Penguins at Panthers and Sharks at Flames are leading the way in high-event probability.
A Second blockbuster deal during the current season has been made. After Jake Muzzin was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Los Angeles Kings, one of the biggest trade baits is off the charts too. Pittsburgh Penguins traded Derick Brassard and Riley Sheahan to the Florida Panthers for a couple of centers, Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann, a couple of fourth-round draft picks and one second-round draft pick in 2019 NHL Draft.
