It’s the offseason and that means the NFL world is moving slowly. Actually, who am I kidding. Free agency is almost here and where players sign will have ripple impact throughout the league. Not only for Super Bowl odds next year but also for dynasty fantasy owners. Each signing changes the views for not only that player but the rest of the team he’s leaving and joining, as well as potential landing spots for rookies.

It was a year of high hopes for America’s Team in the Dallas Cowboys after dealing with mediocre seasons and early playoff exits for the past five years. With a weak schedule to start the season, Dallas rocketed out to a 3-0 start but quickly began to fall back to earth as the team would finish 8-8 on the year and second in the NFC East. There isn’t a better record to describe this team than .500 as the offense was potent at times in 2019 but they lacked consistency both on offense and defense causing them to crumble against better opponents. I don’t think there was one person that follows the NFL, who wasn’t caught off guard by the sudden news of Andrew Luck‘s early retirement. With the announcement coming the last week of August, the Colts were left scrambling with only a handful of weeks to find a starting quarterback before the opening of the regular season. With so few options available, backup Jacoby Brissett became the most logical choice at that point. Brissett would be signed to a two year $30 million dollar contract, just a week after Luck’s retirement.

This time next week all of us will be enjoying Thanksgiving with three football games on. Unfortunately, that’s not till next week and we have to get through another week of football first. The good news is this is the last week of the season with teams on a bye. Fantasy owners will be without their star players on the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Minnesota Vikings this week. However, tonight’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans should offer an entertaining game.
