Mike Trout – Remember that time the Angels signed him to $426 million contract? They got a good value for that. Trout used the Rangers’ pitching staff as a launching pad crushing five home runs in four games. Oh, in 26 plates appearances the last seven game, he only struck out twice and walked eight times, that’s a 4.00 walk to strikeout ratio. We see it every year. A player who has been good during the course of his career has a down year or a breakout year. It happens. Last year, it was Eric Hosmer, Kris Bryant (for his standards), and Jake Arrieta who underperformed. Who will it be this year? No one can know for sure, but I will definitely give my input (with the help of other members of the Scorecrow team).

It was yet another year of mediocrity for the Arizona Diamondbacks. I didn’t expect a lot from this team, to be honest, but it must be frustrating for Diamondbacks fans for their team to constantly be second or third in their division. In 2017, they finally made the playoffs (as a wildcard) for the first time since 2011, in which they lost in the divisional round to the Dodgers.

We always talk about how deep the Outfield is, but if you were to construct your outfield from just this list of 25 players, you would be in great shape. With the exception of a few, there are at least 8 of the first 12 players on this list that have tremendous upside and could far exceed their draft value.
