For the past three years, the Saints have been oh so close to getting back to the Super Bowl. Each year they retool to make another run. This year was no different as Mickey Loomis worked his cap magic as usual and brought in a couple new guys and some old friends.
It was supposed to be a deep Super Bowl run this season, but it ended abruptly at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings for the second time in three years as the New Orleans Saints lost in the Wild Card round 26-20 in overtime. Despite finishing 13-3, they were the third seed by virtue of losing the tiebreakers with the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers. Let’s take a look back at the season and also what lies ahead for the Saints.
We all know how the New Orleans Saints had their season come to an end. Personally, as a Saints fan, I could write a thousand-word article on how they got screwed, but that’s water under the bridge at this point.
