Did Yankees Really Ever Need a “Frontline” Starter?

Alex Kielar| September 12th, 2019

When Yankees’ GM Brian Cashman decided to stay pat at the July 31 Trade Deadline and not make even one move for a starter, a lot of questions were raised and some fans were outraged. That outrage was backed up by the fact the Yankees’ starters, over a six-game period from July 20-25, allowed a horrendous 15.59 ERA, allowing 41 earned runs and 12 home runs over 23 2/3 innings. As terrible as this was, did the Yankees really NEED a starter at the deadline? Well, the performance of the starting staff since July 31 has been almost in spite of Cashman not making a move, and the Yankees’ plans with how to use the starters and bullpen are enough to make a deep run. They have even started to try out a new tactic with their starters which I will get into more later. Continue reading

Into the 80s with Tom Greene- New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers

Tom Greene \ Aug 14th, 2019

81 wins for a team means they are assured they can finish no worse than .500. However, if you have 80 wins in August, you’ll finish above .500, guaranteed. You’ll most likely make the playoffs, too. Of course, barring catastrophic injuries or a strike.

On the radio, Tom Kent brought us back into the 80s on either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night, dependent on where you are in the nation and what radio station you listen to. For me, it was Saturday night. In 2019, I bring you back into the 80s, by breaking down the teams that reach 80 wins. We had two that reached that mark last night. Let’s get to work. Stream Machine 6/24-6/30

Michael Simione | June 21st, 2019

Below are the three best streamers that I see for next week. I do love Zac Gallen but with the uncertainty of him staying in the lineup I sadly could not pick him. I also released an article this week displaying all the MLB team’s offenses, their underlying number and who is truly the worst. This is a great tool as you always want to stream against weak lineups. That can be seen here: How To Effectively Stream Pitchers Continue reading

CC Sabathia Joins Elite Company

Alex Kielar | May 1st, 2019

On Tuesday night, CC Sabathia became just the 17th pitcher of all-time to reach the 3,000 career strikeout plateau. Striking out a former battery mate in Diamondbacks’ John Ryan Murphy, who was a backup catcher for the Yankees from 2013-15, for his 3,000th strikeout, Sabathia further made his case for the Hall of Fame. Sabathia is the first pitcher since John Smoltz in 2008 to reach the milestone.

2019 New York Yankees Preview

Christopher Dinkins | February 27th, 2019

It’s a new year and we are here to get into the 2019 season for the New York Yankees. I had the Yankees winning the World Series last year, but they fell short to the eventual world champion Boston Red Sox in the Divisional round. But its a new year, and you live and learn. The Yankees went through injuries and a less than stellar year from one of its main power bats. But last year is over and its time to focus on this season and putting some heat on those guys in Massachusetts.
