On The Hunt For A Bold Prediction

Matt Woolsey  | April 4th, 2019

I was in a twitter argument a couple days ago over Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. The question was if you had to choose between one of these three running backs: David Johnson, Dalvin Cook, or Nick Chubb, who would you choose? Continue reading

A Point For Pass Interference?

Matt Woolsey | March 29th, 2019

It’s Week 16, you’re sitting at home watching the Green Bay Packers, phone in your hand watching your fantasy score. It’s championship week, you’re down by half a point. Your brow is moist from the sweat, your heart is beating. One more catch by Davante Adams and you win. The teams are coming back from the two-minute warning, it has to be now. If you are going to win, it has to be now.

The Scorecrow Top 100 NFL Players #20-1

Matt Woolsey | March 3rd, 2019

The writers at TheScorecrow.com decided to get together and come up with their version of a Top 100 NFL players from the 2018 season. Each writer was invited to submit a ranked list of their top 25 NFL players. The votes were then counted using a weighted average method. This means that a 1st place vote was worth more than a 25th place vote.

Players ranked 1st on a list received 25 points, 2nd = 24 points and so on down to 1 point for a 25th place vote. Each players points were added up and then listed from least to most to generate our list of top 100 players. The top few players were fairly common on all the lists, but after that it was interesting. We hope you enjoy our rankings and would love to read your comments on our list. Special thanks to Beth Sullivan for tabulating the votes and getting this project together.

Not The 49ers We Expected

Matt Woolsey | January 22nd, 2019

2018 was not the year 49er fans thought it would be. A potential playoff berth was in the discussion, not a 4-12 season that would be good enough for the second-worst record in the league. But if you are going to understand 2018, we will have to hope into the old DeLorean and head back towards the end of 2017.

Is Derrick Henry For Real?

Matt Woolsey | December 27th, 2018

I remember watching Derrick Henry when he was in Alabama and was very high on him coming into the NFL. The landing spot in Tennessee behind the newly signed DeMarco Murray was less than desirable. But ever so often did we get a glimpse of what Henry could be as the starter. Then this past offseason the Titans moved on from Murray and made Henry the guy. Sure they brought in Dion Lewis as your third-down change of pace guy, but Henry is that first/second down bruiser so it was expected. Plus Lewis had a history of being injured throughout the season.

Where In The World Is Adam Thielen?

Matt Woolsey | December 21st, 2018

Forget Carmen Sandiego, where in the world is Adam Thielen? My love for Thielen has been well documented this season and rightfully so. He tied Calvin Johnson or the most consecutive 100-yard games in a single season. He had seven straight WR-1 weeks in the first eight games and was averaging 21 fantasy points a game. Through Week 8 he was the number one wide receiver on the year, so what happened?

Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl Preview

Matt Woolsey | December 20th, 2018

It’s that time of the year and no I’m not talking about the season of the big fat man breaking into houses eating cookies, drinking milk, and leaving gifts under the Christmas tree. It’s Bowl season, one last chance for players hoping to enter the NFL draft to leave a lasting good impression on NFL scouts.
