Mike’s 2020 Mock Draft 1.0

We are just a few days away from week 16 of the 2019 NFL season. That means there are only two weeks of regular season football left and the majority of teams have been eliminated from playoff contention. Those fan bases are already looking ahead to the offseason and most notably the 2020 NFL draft. With a loss in one of their final two games, the Bengals will lock up the top draft spot and will be on the clock.

BREAKING NEWS: Kawhi Leonard, Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers

Early this morning, it was confirmed by Adrian Wojnarowski that Kawhi Leonard has chosen to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, spurning the rival Los Angeles Lakers and the defending champion Toronto Raptors. Later that same minute, Wojnarowski reported that the Oklahoma City Thunder are trading Paul George to L.A. for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, five first-round picks, and swap rights for two other draft picks.

The Scorecrow will have further information and analysis provided later today, courtesy of our very own Mike Fanelli.

Scorecrow Mock Draft 2.0

This is the Scorecrow Mock Draft 2.0 and boy is this a doozy. We have trades galore and plenty of hot takes with these picks that they will surely get a rise out of some of you.

Again Mike Fanelli will be picking with me, this time we split teams by conference. Mike has control of the NFC teams and I have control of the AFC teams so it should be easy to decide who you tweet your love or hate it.

Let’s quit stalling though and get into the heart of this, shall we?

The Ultimate NBA Trade Deadline Recap (Part 4)

As you probably already know, Anthony Davis is not a Laker (yet?). Mike Conley is shockingly still in Memphis. We didn’t see Beal or Kemba or Vucevic leave town. This is the final part of a four-part series where we’ll go over each of the 22 trades made this week, providing commentary and our own personal grades for each team’s involvement in each move. You can find part one here, part two here, and part three here. Hope you enjoy! – Josh

Tennessee Titans 2019 Season Recap

The Tennessee Titans’ 2019 season was one of the quieter, yet bigger stories of the year. After starting the year with a dominant 43-13 win over the highly hyped up Cleveland Browns in week one, the Titans went on to lose two straight to division rivals Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. After a 16-0 loss to the Denver Broncos, the Titans sat at 2-4 when head coach Mike Vrabel benched Marcus Mariota for Ryan Tannehill.

Conference Title Games NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

After 19 weeks of football, we are down to the final four. The six seed Tennessee Titans and two seed Kansas City Chiefs will battle to represent the AFC while the one seed San Francisco 49ers and two seed Green Bay Packers will battle to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 54. Both games are rematches from the regular season with the Titans and 49ers pulling out the victory. Will the outcomes be the same Sunday? We shall see.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2019 Season Recap

There are only three things guaranteed in life. They are birth, death, and everyone in the city of Pittsburgh glad the Steelers got rid of that headache known as Antonio Brown. Since his trade to the Oakland Raiders in March, Brown has produced one major lapse in judgment after another. Steeler fans are much happier with promising rookie Diontae Johnson. The Steelers selected Johnson with the third-round pick they got from the Raiders for Brown.

Divisional Round NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Wild Card weekend was full of great games, all of which ended as a one-possession game. Three of the four wild card teams won, upsetting some potential Superbowl favorites in the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots. For those of you who lost money on Saints or Patriots futures bets, this weekend is a great opportunity to make it back.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2019 Season Recap

Entering the 2019 season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had hopes of making the playoffs. In reality, they were never playoff contenders. The season was highlighted by three things. One, Jameis Winston because the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 30 plus touchdowns and 30 plus interceptions. Ironically, the Buccaneers’ season ended in overtime against the Atlanta Falcons on a pick-six that gave Winston his 30th interception of the season. Two, Chris Godwin’s breakout season. Despite missing 2.5 games because of a hamstring injury, Godwin finished third in the league with 1,333 receiving yards. The duo of him and Mike Evans might be the best in the league. Three, Shaquil Barrett had a breakout season, leading the league with 19.5 sacks. Entering the season he had 14 career sacks.

Fantasy Football Roundtable: Early 2020 Outlook

The 2019 fantasy season has come and gone. Hopefully, you were able to bring home some titles and all the bragging rights (and money) that comes with it. However, the calendar has flipped to 2020 and it’s (probably) never too early to prepare for the upcoming fantasy season. The Scorecrow family is here to help fantasy owners get a jump start on the 2020 season, putting together another roundtable giving you their opinion on five fantasy football questions. Be sure to follow all of the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it.

Wild Card Round NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

The 2019 NFL regular season is over and now just 12 teams remain in the chase for a Super Bowl trophy. Wild Card weekend starts tomorrow and we have four games over the next two days, where it’s simple: win or go home! Many betters have already put money down on futures bets for conference champions and Super Bowl winners. However, let’s not miss out on the great action in this weekend’s games.

Washington Redskins 2019 Season Recap

The 2019 season was one filled with frustration by the fans and a billion #FireBruceAllen replies on every tweet from the Redskins’ official twitter page. The team finished 3-13, the second-worst record in the league, only ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals. Jay Gruden was fired after the team started 0-5. The team had unrealistic expectations this season but Gruden needed to go as the team needed a major shakeup. It took until week nine for rookie Dwayne Haskins to take over as the starter at quarterback. He should have been starting the game after Gruden was fired. This season should have been about developing the future, yet it started off with expectations of competing for the playoffs.

Week 17 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

It’s week 17 and that means the 2019 NFL season is coming to an end. The playoff picture has cleared up in the NFC, as five teams have punched their ticket while the Eagles are in with a win over the Giants while the Cowboys are in with a win and an Eagles’ loss. In the AFC, five teams have punched their ticket as the Ravens have locked up the top seed while three teams, the Titans, Steelers, and Raiders all still have a shot to claim that last wild card spot. With all 16 games on Sunday for the only week this season, sports betters will be glued to the television all day long.

Week 16 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Two weeks to go in the 2019 NFL season and the playoff picture is starting to come together. The most important game this week is between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. The winner of that game will control their destiny in the NFC East division race. With several critical games this week now is the time to put down some money to buy extra Christmas presents.

2019 Fantasy Football Week 16: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for this week. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

Week 15 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

With three weeks to go in the 2019 NFL season, a few teams have locked in a playoff spot while a few more can clinch a playoff berth with a win this weekend. There are six games this weekend where both teams are mathematically still involved in the playoff picture, either fighting for a first-round bye, division title, or a wild-card spot. This includes the Sunday night game between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers, where both teams enter the weekend in the two wild-card spots in the AFC playoff picture. With so many critical games this weekend, expect a lot of entertaining games with close outcomes.

2019 Fantasy Football Week 15: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for this week. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

TNF Fantasy Preview: New York Jets vs Baltimore Ravens

One week of the fantasy playoffs down, two more to go. Hopefully, you found out Monday night that your team advanced to the second round or enjoyed your first-round bye but now the decision on who the start and who to sit is even more critical. Tonight’s contest between the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens is the last Thursday night game in 2019 and the NFL couldn’t have picked a more one-sided matchup. The Ravens are trying to lock up the AFC North and a first-round bye while the Jets are already planning vacations and looking forward to the offseason.

Week 14 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

It’s week 14 and that means we have four weeks left in the 2019 NFL regular season. A handful of teams have been eliminated from the playoffs while a few can lock up playoff spots tomorrow. There are several games this week with serious playoff implications including the Sunday night game between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angles Rams. With so many critical games this weekend, expect a lot of entertaining games with close outcomes.

2019 Fantasy Football Week 14: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, two of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for this week. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Dallas Cowboys vs Chicago Bears

Hopefully, everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and found out Monday night that they made the playoffs. If you did be thankful for it and if you didn’t, it’s never too early to start preparing for next year, especially in dynasty leagues. With three weeks to go (unless you play in week 17 for some weird reason), every decision on who the start and who to sit is even more critical. To kick off the start of the fantasy playoffs we have a matchup between the Cowboys and Bears. Not only is this game critical to fantasy owners but to both franchises as they fight for the playoffs.

Week 13 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Hopefully, everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and didn’t beat the hell out of anyone on Black Friday. If you got to enjoy the three Thanksgiving games, all three were entertaining, unless you’re a Cowboys fan then just two were entertaining. The underdog covered in two of the three games with the Falcons coming up a point or two short of covering the spread in their game against the Saints. With the NFL playoffs a little more than a month away, there should be plenty of competitive games this week.

2020 NFL Mock Draft: Thanksgiving Edition

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hopefully, you are sharing this with family while enjoying some good quality time with them. Remember to leave the political conversations at the door to avoid anyone leaving. We all know when Thanksgiving rolls around, the end of the NFL season is near. However, most of the league is still mathematically in the playoff race. For those fan bases whose favorite team is out or will be out shortly, they have the 2020 NFL draft to look forward to. To help you all enjoy your Thanksgiving, The Scorecrow family has put together a mock draft with help from eight of our excellent writers.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Thanksgiving 3 Game Slate

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hopefully, you are getting ready to spend time with family and friends while eating turkey and enjoying some NFL action. Like every year, we have three games on Thanksgiving. First up at 12:30 pm EST is the Chicago Bears at the Detroit Lions, followed by the Buffalo Bills at the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 pm EST, and to close out the night is the New Orleans Saints at the Atlanta Falcons at 8:20 pm EST. While only one of these games offers serious playoff implications, all three offer some interesting fantasy options.

Week 12 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Starting next week we will have 16 games a week to bet on for the rest of the regular season. With only 13 Sunday and Monday games to bet on, there aren’t a lot of surprising lines. Of the 13 games, 11 have a spread under a touchdown which is a little surprising given the past few weeks. With several close matchups this week, we should expect a lot of close and entertaining games tomorrow.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans

This time next week all of us will be enjoying Thanksgiving with three football games on. Unfortunately, that’s not till next week and we have to get through another week of football first. The good news is this is the last week of the season with teams on a bye. Fantasy owners will be without their star players on the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Minnesota Vikings this week. However, tonight’s matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans should offer an entertaining game.

Week 12 Fantasy Streamers

The end is finally here! Well, the bye weeks that is. Week 12 is the last week with teams on the bye this season as the Arizona Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, and Minnesota Vikings all finally get a week off. Unfortunately, for fantasy owners, that means they will be without several top performers as they push for the fantasy playoffs. Those players include Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Travis Kelce, Hunter Henry, and Harrison Butker among others.

Week 11 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

We are less than two weeks away from Thanksgiving and that means the playoff races are heating up. With the Seattle Seahawks defeating the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, there are no more undefeated teams left in the NFL. The Seahawks are on a bye this week while the 49ers are the biggest favorites of the week at -10.5 against the Arizona Cardinals. With several close matchups this week, including one in Mexico City, expect a lot of entertaining football tomorrow.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Cleveland Browns

Two weeks from today is Thanksgiving and that means the NFL regular season is on the back nine. With the San Francisco 49ers losing in overtime Monday night to the Seattle Seahawks, every team has lost at least one game this season. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins pulled off their second straight win, defeating the Indianapolis Colts, throwing NFL draft junkies for a spin. Last week’s Thursday night game between the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers was entertaining, close, and offered plenty of fantasy points.

Waiver Wire Targets for Week 11

The month of November has been a wacky one in the NFL. The Dolphins are 2-0 as they defeated the Jets and Colts this month after going 0-7 in the first two months of the season. Meanwhile, coming off a bye, the Rams lost to the Steelers on Sunday while the Saints got destroyed by the Falcons. This coming week the Packers, Giants, Seahawks, and Titans are on a bye, leaving fantasy owners with several key players unavailable as they push for a playoff spot.

Week 10 NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

The 2019 NFL season seems like it just started, yet we are more than halfway through the regular season. The playoffs are just around the corner as teams are fighting for division titles and wild card spots. Week 10 offered betters five divisional matchups, including the Thursday night game between the Los Angles Chargers and Oakland Raiders. Despite being 2.5-3.5 point underdogs, the Raiders got the outright victory 26-24. With four more divisional games tomorrow, expect plenty of close games this week.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Los Angeles Chargers vs Oakland Raiders

Even though it feels like it just started, we are more than halfway through the 2019 season. The San Francisco 49ers are the only remaining undefeated team as the New England Patriots loss on Sunday while the Cincinnati Bengals are the only remaining winless team as the Miami Dolphins got their first win of the season against the New York Jets. Last week’s Thursday night game was closer than many expected between the 49ers and Arizona Cardinals. Hopefully, tonight’s game is similar. In a division matchup between the Los Angles Chargers and Oakland Raiders, as both teams enter tonight’s game needing a win in the tight AFC Wild Card race.

Week Nine NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

The 2019 NFL trade deadline was Tuesday but it was a quiet day as only Aqib Talib was traded in a salary dump move by the Los Angeles Rams. However, on Monday, the Miami Dolphins traded Kenyan Drake to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional sixth-round draft pick. On Thursday night, Drake had his best game of the year, totaling 19 touches for 162 scrimmage yards. The San Francisco 49ers won the game 28-25 but the game was much closer than the 9.5 or 10 points the road team was favored by.

2019 Fantasy Football Week Nine: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

To help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week nine. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

TNF Fantasy Preview: San Francisco 49ers vs Arizona Cardinals

Happy Halloween everyone! The NFL trade deadline was Tuesday and several players got moved. One of the players moved was Kenyan Drake, who will play tonight for the Arizona Cardinals. Last week’s Thursday night game was boring and I expect tonight’s game to be similar. The Cardinals are coming off a 31-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints, while the San Francisco 49ers destroyed the Carolina Panthers 51-13. Even at home, the Cardinals are massive underdogs and this game will be hard to watch, so be smart and enjoy your Halloween doing something else.

Week Eight NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Thursday night’s game between the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings wasn’t as entertaining as we had hoped. The Vikings won the game 19-9 as the two teams combined for just one touchdown but seven field goals. In most places, the line was Vikings -16.5 and they didn’t come close to covering it. Despite Case Keenum leaving the game at halftime because of a concussion, the Vikings outscored the Redskins by just three points in the second half. Needless to say, anyone who backed the Vikings -16.5 was left very disappointed in Kirk Cousins and the Vikings’ effort in the second half.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Washington Redskins vs Minnesota Vikings

Last week’s Thursday night game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos wasn’t much of a contest. Despite the Chiefs losing star quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter with a dislocated kneecap, the Broncos didn’t score after the opening drive and went on to lose 30-6. Hopefully, tonight’s game between the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings is more entertaining, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

Week 8 Fantasy Streamers

Week seven of the NFL season got off to a scary start when the Kansas City Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes on Thursday night with a dislocated knee injury in their win against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, Mahomes is expected to just miss a few weeks and will likely be back after the team’s week 12 bye. In the meanwhile, fantasy owners can’t drop Mahomes and since you spent the early draft capital on him, you likely didn’t draft a second quarterback. The best way to try and fill his shoes is to stream the position. As part of this week’s streamers, I will give you a few options to replace Mahomes with for this week.

Week Seven NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

The entire NFL world was silent as reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated knee cap Thursday night against the Denver Broncos. Thankfully, the MRI results yesterday reportedly show no further damage and Mahomes should return later this season. With Mahomes out of the game, everyone who bet the Broncos +3 was feeling great about their odds to cash their ticket. However, the Broncos’ offense fell apart after the opening drive and the Chiefs went on to easily win 30-6.

2019 Fantasy Football Week Seven: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

Well, week seven started with a bang and in a negative manner. With the Patrick Mahomes injury uncertainty that has left a lot of owners scrambling to find a win this week. We might be able to offer those answers in finding that win and to help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week seven. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos

Last week’s Thursday night game between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots was a closer game than many expected, at least till the fourth quarter. Eventually, the Patriots won 35-14 as the defense scored two touchdowns to match Tom Brady’s two rushing touchdowns. While the game wasn’t full of fantasy points, Golden Tate and Julian Edelman joined Brady and the Patriots D/ST as the only players to score more than 14 fantasy points in the game. Hopefully, tonight’s game offers more big-time fantasy scorers.

Week Six NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Make sure to set those alarm clocks extra early on Sunday as the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers face off at 9:30 AM EST from London. Not only do you need to get your fantasy lineups set but also to get in on the betting action for this game. Hopefully, if you bet the Patriots -17 on Thursday night you didn’t panic and hedge your bets after their slow start as the Patriots won 35-14. However, the original over/under was set at 43 in most spots and the over hit thanks to Tom Brady’s second rushing touchdown of the game, which came with just under four minutes left in the contest.

2019 Fantasy Football Week Six: Starts, Sits, and Sleepers

Here’s hope that your week five was a success and you started Will Fuller and didn’t sit him on the bench. If you started Mike Evans, here’s hope the rest of your squad pulled the weight and got you the win. Though on to week six and looking to recover from last week or keep the momentum going and to help fantasy football players with their roster construction, three of our writers have provided some insight on which players they would start, would sit, and consider a sleeper for week six. Be sure to follow all of them on twitter and ask any of The Scorecrow’s fantasy writers for fantasy advice.

TNF Fantasy Preview: New York Giants vs New England Patriots

For the second week in a row, the Thursday night matchup was an entertaining game. The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Los Angeles Rams 30-29 as Greg Zuerlein missed a game-winning 44-yard field goal with 11 seconds left in the game. The game was full of fantasy points for both teams and hopefully, we get another fantasy stuffed game tonight between the New York Giants and the New England Patriots. However, I think this game will be boring and lack a lot of big-time fantasy scorers.

Week Five NFL Picks: Spreads, Props and More

Thursday night’s game between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks was an exciting contest, especially in the second half. Both offenses came to life with the Seahawks ultimately winning, 30-29 after Greg Zuerlein missed a game-winning field goal. If you got the Rams +1.5 you barely covered while the total of 48.5 easily went over. If half of the games on Sunday are as good as Thursday night’s, NFL and gambling fans are in for another great day of football.

NFL Roundtable: 2019 First Quarter Edition

The 2019 NFL season is already a quarter of the way finished and team’s identity are starting to shape into form. At this point, there are only three undefeated teams left in the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and surprisingly the San Francisco 49ers. Meanwhile, there are six winless teams and almost half the league is sitting at 2-2. If this course continues, the playoff race will be as exciting as ever, but what have we learned over the first quarter of the season? The Scorecrow family has put together another roundtable giving you their opinions on five NFL questions. Be sure to follow all the writers on twitter and ask any questions you may have regarding their answers. Without any further ado, let’s get into it.

TNF Fantasy Preview: Los Angeles Rams vs Seattle Seahawks

Last week’s Thursday night game was a good one, with the Eagles defeating the Packers 34-27 thanks to a tipped Aaron Rodgers pass that turned into the game ending interception. After the first few Thursday night games which being boring, we get another great matchup as the Los Angeles Rams travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks.
