Last summer, Bam Adebayo predicted his stats for the 2019-20 season. The Miami Heat center had predicted he’ll average 16 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. So far, his prediction has been right. At the COVID-19 break, Adebayo is currently averaging 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
Now, the Heat all-star is shooting for more. In a one-on-one interview with Heat play by play broadcaster Eric Reid, Adebayo said he could see himself averaging 20 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists next season.

Adebayo has already shattered expectations so far this season. In just his third NBA season, Adebayo became an NBA All-star, as he showed an improved all-around game. He has three triple-doubles this season and leads the Heat in double-doubles with 38. Bam’s emergence has propelled the Heat to a 41-24 record and the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference.
One of the areas Adebayo needs improvement on is consistency with his mid-range jumper. There’s been some growth in that area of his game, but defenders are still daring him to shoot. According to NBA.com, Adebayo is shooting 23.5 percent in the midrange area. If he can improve in that area, his goal of averaging 20 points will become more achievable. If he’s more consistent in the mid-range area, it’ll make the Heat more dangerous offensively.
