After losing at home on Friday, the Miami Heat bounced back with a win over the Orlando Magic. Whenever the Magic made a run, the Heat pushed back. The win moves the Heat back into second place in the Eastern Conference standings. Their season record is now at 32-14.
Here are my takeaways from Monday’s win over the Magic.
HEAT’s Kobe tribute
What a beautiful tribute by the Miami Heat to honor the late great Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi Bryant. For many, Kobe served as an inspiration, a mentor, and a role model. His impact both on and off the basketball court will never be forgotten. He will truly be missed.

Bam’s triple-double night
With the deadline for coaches to turn in their All-Star reserves votes on Tuesday, Bam Adebayo offered a reminder with his performance on Monday. Adebayo started off shooting 5-of-6 from the field to score 10-first quarter points. He didn’t stop there either. Bam also recorded 10 assists—one shy of his career-high set earlier this season.

Adebayo finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was Bam’s third triple-double of the season.
The Brief Return of 7-11
A few seasons ago, the starting backcourt of Dion Waiters and Goran Dragic played a huge role in the Heat’s 30-11 season run in 2017. On Monday, the two played alongside each other once again. Waiters got a quick assist off a Dragic three-pointer on his opening stint. He followed that up with another assist to Derrick Jones Jr and shot a three-pointer on his first attempt from the field.
The pairing only lasted for five minutes with Waiters not playing in the second half.
Next up: The Boston Celtics on Tuesday. Game tips off at 8pm ET on TNT.
