Dwyane Wade on Tyler Herro: “He looks like he wants it”

Dwyane Wade may be retired, but that hasn’t stopped him from following the Miami Heat. So far, the three-time NBA champion has been impressed by what he has seen from Heat rookie Tyler Herro.

Via Sun Sentinel’s Ira Winderman:

“I followed the Summer League and got to see whatever the Heat posted on their page,” Wade said. “I haven’t been around the players yet but I like what I see. When the Miami Heat draft somebody, you gotta know how they’re built. So, I already know he has a special build about him and now it’s just about what work he wants to put in to become whatever player he wants to become. He looks like he wants it. I can’t wait to see what happens this year in his rookie year. I look forward to it.”

Wade is currently at the junior championship event as a global ambassador for the game of basketball.

Herro was among the best players in Summer League after averaging 19.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in six appearances. Known for his shooting, Herro also an ability to facilitate and set up his teammates. Herro is expected to be a key part of the Heat’s rotation this upcoming season.

Tyler Herro has already proven to be a confident player, often referring to himself as a bucket”. But should the rookie need advice on anything, I’m positive Dwyane Wade will be willing to help.
