MLB DFS 5/5: Stacks and One-Offs

Givanni Damico | May 5th, 2019

Hey guys. This is my first baseball DFS article and hopefully the first of many. I’ll give you some stacks and one-offs for today’s main slate including the games that start between 1:05 and 2:10.

Stacks:

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Jason Vargas (NYM)

Christian Yelich (OF), Ryan Braun (OF), Jesus Aguilar (1B) DK: $14100

They’re facing Jason Vargas. Need I say more? Ryan Braun and Lorenzo Cain are interchangeable (same price). You could also use Cain over Aguilar for $700 more.

Seattle Mariners at Cody Anderson (CLE)

Mitch Haniger (OF), Dan Vogelbach (1B), Jay Bruce (OF) DK: $14600

Cody Anderson has struggled in his short season so far and the Mariners’ offense should be able to take advantage of it. Edwin Encarnacion and Vogelbach are exchangeable but you can’t get both, so I’d go with Vogelbach. All three of these guys are power threats.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Anibal Sanchez (WSH) VERY RISKY

Jean Segura (SS), Bryce Harper (OF), Rhys Hoskins (1B) DK: $15100

Anibal Sanchez is 04 with an ERA over 5.00 this season. These three guys all have upside, but I’d be very careful playing this stack because of inclement weather that may cause the game to be postponed.

One Offs:

Neil Walker 1B (vs. ATL) DK: $3600

Huge upside here as Walker bats cleanup against a struggling Julio teheran. He is very affordable as well.

J.D. Martinez, OF (at CWS) DK: $4700

For the caliber of player that Martinez is, he’s very cheap. He is batting third today in a lineup that has been producing plenty of runs.

Gregory Polanco, OF (vs. OAK) DK: $4100

Good value here for Polanco batting third against an Oakland team who has given up their fair share of runs this year.

Avoid the Rays vs. Orioles game because of weather and be very careful using the Phillies stack.
